The role combines classroom teaching with supervised practice. The College of Nursing at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital describes the Sister Tutor as responsible to the Principal for organizing and conducting the teaching programme. Public-sector nursing education services may use related designations. Maharashtra’s State Nursing Cell lists “Nursing Officers/Tutors/Clinical Instructors” among its public-health nursing cadres, while NEIGRIHMS uses the designation “Tutor/Clinical Instructor” in its recruitment-rule material.
