SRMJEEE

SRMJEEE (UG) is SRMIST's entrance-exam route associated with admission to B.Tech and B.Tech/M.Tech Integrated programmes. It is not itself a degree or job credential: candidates use their examination result/rank in SRMIST's admission and counselling process, where programme and campus choices are considered alongside eligibility and seat availability.

For the 2026 cycle, SRMIST described three phases: Phase I from April 24–29, Phase II from June 10–15, and Phase III from July 4–5. These dates are historical as of July 19, 2026; applicants should not treat them as dates for a later admission cycle.

• The exam is relevant primarily to applicants seeking SRMIST engineering admissions through the regular Indian admissions route.
• International-admission handling is separate: SRMIST's FAQ says JEE Main/SAT scores are considered for B.Tech International admission.

For the regular-stream B.Tech/M.Tech Integrated route, SRMIST's published eligibility page identifies Resident Indian applicants and directs NRI, PIO, and OCI applicants to the international application route. It requires a candidate to have passed, or be appearing in, the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination with a minimum 60% aggregate in three subjects: Physics, Mathematics, and at least one approved third subject. The approved third-subject list includes Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, Botany, and Zoology.

SRMIST separately states that Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering programmes can use a 60% aggregate in specified PCM/PMB/PCB combinations; students admitted without Mathematics in 10+2 to those programmes must take an additional four-credit Mathematics course in first year. The institution also publishes qualification rules for GCE A-level and IB applicants, and a NIOS-related schooling condition.

• Treat programme-specific rules as controlling: the subject combination can differ for biotechnology-related programmes.
• The SRMJEEE 2026 FAQ also stated an age threshold of 16 years and 6 months by July 31 of the year in which the candidate takes the Class 12 board examination, and stated that a gap exceeding three years after Class 12 is not permitted. Confirm this and all eligibility criteria against the prospectus for the intended cycle before applying.

The official 2026 examination-pattern document set the paper at 130 questions for 130 marks over 2 hours 30 minutes. The subject split was Physics (35), Chemistry (35), Mathematics or Biology (40), and English & Aptitude (20), with no negative marks.

SRMIST described the 2026 delivery as remote-proctored online testing from home. Candidates were to use a desktop or laptop rather than a mobile phone; the institution said monitoring would involve AI, proctors, and super-proctors. Its FAQ listed a functional webcam, a Chrome or Firefox browser, stable internet of at least 2 Mbps, and a microphone/headphones where needed among the technical requirements.

• SRMIST stated that there were two test slots per examination day and that slot booking enabled hall-ticket download.
• A mock examination was provided before the main examination; use it to test both the interface and home setup.

In the 2026 process, SRMIST required a separate application for each phase. The official FAQ listed online payment by debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking; it required photo and signature images for upload, and stated that the per-phase application fee was non-refundable. The fee was ₹1,400 per phase in 2026, but applicants should regard that amount as cycle-specific rather than a standing fee.

SRMIST stated that the course/campus preferences entered with the application were only for statistical purposes; the actual choices were made during counselling. After results, candidates check their rank in the admissions portal. Counselling was held online separately for each phase, and the admission committee allocates campus, programme, and specialisation using factors including SRMJEEE rank, qualifying examination, and availability. A candidate who is allotted a seat must pay within the stipulated period for the provisional allotment letter to be issued.

• As of July 19, 2026, the official 2026 deadlines—April 16, June 4, and June 30 for Phases I, II, and III—had passed.
• Do not rely on an old application form or deadline: use SRMIST's current admissions portal and the cycle-specific FAQ/important-dates notice.
• Keep application credentials safe; SRMIST says results and rank are accessed through the admissions portal using the application number and date of birth.

Build the study plan from the official syllabus and the published weightage. For the Mathematics route, Physics and Chemistry account for 70 questions, Mathematics for 40, and English plus Aptitude for 20; Biology replaces Mathematics for the Biology route. The official syllabus covers 10+2-level subject areas, including mechanics, electricity, optics and modern physics; physical, inorganic and organic chemistry; and mathematics topics such as algebra, calculus, coordinate geometry, vectors, probability, and trigonometry.

Practise in timed 2-hour-30-minute blocks using the actual 130-question distribution. Because SRMIST published no negative marking for 2026, candidates can plan a final review pass for unanswered questions, while still prioritising accuracy and time management. Before the test, complete the official mock test and verify webcam, browser, laptop, and internet readiness in the same space intended for the remote-proctored exam.

• Use the official syllabus as the scope checklist, rather than assuming another engineering entrance examination has identical coverage.
• Reserve explicit practice time for English and Aptitude; together they comprised 20 questions in the 2026 pattern.
• For a future cycle, re-check both syllabus and pattern, since the linked detailed syllabus document is labelled 2025 even though SRMIST's 2026 FAQ directed candidates to it.

SRMIST states that SRMJEEE results are made available online and that candidates can check their rank in the admissions portal. Qualifying candidates proceed to online counselling, select their preferred course and campus, and may receive an allocation based on rank and seat availability. Payment within the specified timeline is needed to confirm the allotted seat; SRMIST says the provisional allotment letter and fee receipt are then issued.

An SRMJEEE rank can also be relevant to SRMIST scholarship consideration. Its scholarship policy, updated March 5, 2026, lists provisions for top SRMJEEE ranks and a merit-scholarship category for ranks 101–500 across phases/campuses, subject to admission, counselling, annual application, academic-performance, and committee conditions. Scholarship availability, amount, and renewal terms are variable and should be checked against the policy in force at the time of admission.

• An examination rank does not by itself guarantee a particular branch or campus: allocation depends on the institution's admission criteria and available seats.
• SRMIST's FAQ says fee structures vary by campus and course; applicants should use the current programme-level fee information before accepting an allotment.
