This makes PGDMLT relevant to laboratory operations as well as bench-level testing, although the exact scope of training and competency assessment differs by university.

The appropriate next step depends on the employer’s job specification, the institution’s recognition and the candidate’s prior qualification; a PGDMLT alone should not be assumed to satisfy every employer, laboratory-accreditation or business-operating requirement.
