How to register

Eligible candidates apply online through the IIBF website during the registration window published with the examination schedule. Candidates must register separately for every attempt. IIBF’s rules state that the examination medium is chosen when applying and cannot later be changed; the Institute publishes schedules and registration dates on its website. Candidates should use the live IIBF schedule rather than relying on prior-cycle dates because schedules, centres, and registration windows can change.

  • Verify IIBF membership status and the applicable eligibility conditions before applying.
  • Register online within the announced window for the intended examination attempt.
  • Choose English or Hindi at registration and retain the generated/downloadable admit letter.

Examination costs

Under IIBF’s 2026 JAIIB and CAIIB rules for examination centres in India, the first-attempt fee is ₹4,000 for JAIIB and ₹5,000 for CAIIB. Each second through fifth attempt is listed at ₹1,300. These are variable, dated fee figures: convenience charges and taxes are additional, later-week registration can attract a surcharge, and IIBF says fees once paid are not refundable or adjustable. Study material is not included in the examination fee.

  • Confirm the current IIBF fee notice before submitting payment.

Progression after JAIIB

For a banking professional who meets the membership conditions, CAIIB is the formal advanced progression from JAIIB. CAIIB adds advanced bank and financial management, banking regulation/business law, and an elective chosen from five banking specialisms. IIBF notes that candidates may select an elective aligned to their current role or an area in which they intend to work, and may change the elective in a later attempt.

  • Progress from JAIIB to CAIIB once the CAIIB eligibility condition is met.
  • Use the CAIIB elective to focus on rural banking, HR, IT and digital banking, risk management, or central banking.
  • Review current IIBF examination and academic notices for syllabus updates and operational changes.
